Oh no.....PCU limit reached.

Oh no.....PCU limit reached.

Well, it was always optimistic right from the start.

Tunnel through the Earth Planet and float at zero G at the core. Tick

Construct a multi-head drill to all in Auto collect a serious amount of ice, construct a conveyor >2km long to take it back to base. Tick. No problem.

Next. Build the holy grail.

Space elevator. ~41km vertical.

Build it in space and lower it to ground. Where to built it? Easy. GPS mark the point to land. Calculate a marker from 0;0;0 through the target marker up to 42km AGL. Calculate an alignment marker another 2km out and use those as starting points and alignment so the whole thing is gravity aligned.

No challenge.

Advantage of building in space? All the raws you need and you aren't fighting gravity for 41km.

Right. Built it to 3km with a hydrogen powered reverse thrust braking mechanism at the tail end and nose down a cab with landing legs. Beautiful.

Test the principle. GREAT. IT WORKS.

Now, build to 6km length and test. Again success. The braking mechanism sliws it down from 104m/s to 0 in 210m. Smiles all atound.

Go to 12km and test. We are now getting really serious. Very nervous but here we go. Again success.

With reduced gravity at altitude from 12 onwards you can stretch the reverse thruster station. We'l go to 20km and do the next check. That is almost halfway 🤭🤭🤭

And then, at 16km conveyor lenght, this...😵😵🥴🥴🥴😳😳😳🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬😩😩😩😡😡😡

🤷‍♂️ oh well, ...next project.

Loooong repeating grids

I wish there was a function for welding a long repeatitive section where the welder adds the suggested block. It would be very handy for a long conveyor. The projector can't do it because it does not "link" the block to the previous.

Like an automated add and weld function.

Welding Blocks

Please.....on my knees here. Can the welding range of the welder block not be extended. I'm on my knees here, along with every other person who is building anything bigger than a cab on 4 wheels.... 🥺🥺

Platinum ON EARTH!!!

Okay I cheated, but in a good way.

Mined platinum from asteroids. Move to a pre-marked GPS location at 0.15G 500m offset from directly above "Earth" base and ejected the ore. It fell from space landing in a neat pile for collection close to base. In a team effort one guy collects in space, drops it to base and the guy below collects it. No launch and land required 😁

Ice mining on steroids

Still learning. Built this to see if you can convey over a >1km distance. Also, will weight destroy it if you run it unsupported for too far.

The mining, rotation etc. works well. Storage space QUICKLY becomes a problem. Haven't yet reached the unsupported weight limitation.

Journey to the centre of the Earth

New to S.E. 4 days.

Crazy lot to learn, find and how/where to find, but once you get the hang of it, it becomes very enjoyable.

First improved the available vehicles and then built my own.

THEN.....looking for Uranium I drilled deeper carrying an ore detector on the drilling rig.

One thing led to another and 61 117m later I was hanging weightless in the centre of the Earth. Going down was not too big a concern besides too much down force wanting to destroy the rig.

Coming back out how-ever was a completely different battle.

Done and dusted. Coming out on the other side my home base is not within detectable range, and these mountains will make the alps envious!!

Now to build a new minor base, build something that will fly fast and find my base!
