Wine 11 || DXVK query || Intel HD graphics

Hello,

I have been trying out some older games(2000-2012) on my laptop <i3-7130u, intel hd 620> with good enough success rate using wine 11 and dxvk 3.0.1 through winetricks.

But I read somewhere that previous version of dxvk, namely 2.4.1, are better for intel hd graphics.

Is this right? I have been getting good enough fps on low settings on many games but should I change the dxvk to get more out of my potato laptop?

I am not interested in running latest games just the games from that era.

Thanks in advance for any suggestion/advise.

Android Mobile as Keyboard+Mouse for Mint Laptop

Hello,

I would like to use my android device OnePlus Nord CE2 as wireless keyboard + mouse for my laptop running Mint Zara.

I looked into kdeconnect, but was hoping not to install kde dependencies for such a minor thing.

Are there any other alternatives?? For file sharing I already have warpinator, just need the keyboard+mouse.

Thank you.

Maui celebrates its animals and citizens.... while we dilliwale drifts further away

Post after posts about the case of the Kirti nagar lady hitting the security guard who killed an old dog and a nursing mother with an iron rod.

For some comparison...here is what Maui nationals are doing to protect their animals. Please see the video attached or check out the news article.

<Actually dont take my word for it...verify through multiple sources before believing the story, use google>

https://nypost.com/2026/05/10/us-news/seattle-tourist-beat-up-by-local-after-viral-video-of-him-tossing-huge-rock-at-endangered-seal/

To summarise, a tourist threw a rock at a seal....not only was he beaten by the locals but the authorities are awarding the local who beat the tourist while filing charges against the rotten rock-throwing psycho.

But here in India, the woman is vilified but the psycho who bludgeoned an old dog and a nursing mother with iron rod to death is being hailed as the victim and a hero. You all can spin it as a hate crime all you want but deep down you know what actually happened!

That was a woman who cared and fed those dogs and knew that the monster who murdered those dogs in cold blood would have gotten off scot-free because the animal cruelty laws in our country are a bad joke. 50 rupees is the fine for killing a stray, for those who dont know. She is frustrated that humans can be such monsters while she and hers are being called "dog-gangs" or cults and being constantly harrased for having the temerity to show basic human decency to other species. If compassion and empathy is a cult then sign me up!

If, and thats a big IF, the dogs were actually dangerous, there are other ways of dealing with the situation....the dog could have been hurt or sick or even feeling threatened...rehab or behavioral training could have been tried or they could even have been relocated. Or in case of rabies, dealt by professionals.

But the psycho let his bloodlust out because he knew that nothing would happen to him. And nothing have....he was slapped around by a middle-aged grief stricken lady while his victims died with broken bones in agonizing pain. That is not even close to being equal.

I dont use the word psycho lightly here, killing animals in such a gruesome manner without remorse is a telltale sign of violent psychopathy<again, google it>...please dont normalise such psychopathy.

Please I implore you all...India is known for peace and being one with the nature<this you dont have to google>...dont let hatred and anger cloud our judgements.

We can and should be the ones leading the world to a better place, not actually become the hellhole some countries are starting to think of us as.
