Prevented an accident
iwas driving my 2025 Audi Q5 on a Detroit highway during a severe thunderstorm with heavy rain. I was traveling in the middle lane at about 60\mph with Adaptive Cruise Control and Lane Assist activated. Down the road, the right lane was backed up due to an accident.
Suddenly, a lorry in the right lane cut directly into my lane just a short distance ahead. Because of the blinding rain, I didn't see him moving over at all. Before I could even react, my Q5 took over the steering wheel, veered itself into the far lane where there was open space, and flashed a close-object warning sound on the screen. I was completely shocked, I had no idea the Q5 had side-collision prevention and evasive steering capabilities! It was a terrifying moment, but the car's safety tech completely prevented a bad accident!
