Thoughts on New Parr casting

So, Anna Uzle is leaving Sunday with no replacement announced as of yet and the show VERY likely closing on Broadway at the end of the year

While we wait for confirmation, I thought it'd be fun to look back at all the amazing actors who've portrayed the role on, not only on Broadway but across the US, and see who people would like to see return to the role most!

Me personally, I've always adored Kristina Leopold as all of her covers, but her Parr specifically has always struck a cord that honestly brought to my eyes when I first heard her vocals.

Top choice for replacement has to be Tasia Jungbauer, though!

Logistically she makes the most sense having JUST finished the tour in my mind, and the added factor that Anna's (VERY unexpected) departure was only announced once the tour wrapped up makes me think that they had to wait for one thing to end before announcing another.

Is anyone else a little concerned for the Australian tour?

I say this purely because not one, but TWO major musicals have announced premature closures in the past week, one of them having made its Australian debut

For something that's already been seen by audiences on 3 separate occasions now, is it really feasible that the tour makes it into 2027 given the current state of Australian arts or am I just looking too deep into it? 💀🫠

Am I the only one who doesn't like how Epic ends?

Don't get me wrong, I adore would you fall in love with me as a standalone song. But for the context of the plot? It feels too perfect and lighthearted when you actually stop and think for two seconds about the sheer amount of damage control Odyseuss is gonna have waiting for him once the family reunion's over.

Let's not dress it up. His people are going to LOATHE him when it becomes glaringly obvious that he's "somehow" the sole survivor of a fleet that should theoretically consist of 600 corpses by this point. ESPECIALLY if he were to actually come clean about his choices.

That's 600 husbands, sons, uncles, brothers, etc. At LEAST 600 individuals with some kind of vendetta against him. Amongst these people is his OWN SISTER, need we forget. His flesh and blood.

In the Odyssey he's forced to get ZEUS HIMSELF involved in order to actually calm things down, and even then, with the king of the gods by his side, it ultimately results in MORE violence to keep a peace that's hanging by a thread.

I genuinely can't see Odyseuss being a well-liked, or even tolerated ruler with all this in mind. At the end of the day, the only living allies he has can probably be counted on one hand compared to the amount of inadvertent enemies he's made.

Could I have some brutal honesty?

I, (19) have just graduated from a 3-year college course focused around performing arts. Although I was initially going to simply apply for further acting courses, my local university is offering an MT course for the 1st time ever, something which I've always worked towards being a kind of "end goal" for me!

The two main setbacks, however, are my dance skills and possible competition.

Like I mentioned, this is the first time this course would be offered and I live in a very populated area, and I already know a handful of my peers from the course are in the same mindset as me. People who I know are better than me and have a much higher chance of success.

In regards to my dance skills, I'd honestly call myself a beginner at best. My main talent lies in my singing, and I'm a fairly good actor, but I'll not sugarcoat it when I say I've been been neglecting dance a lot. I've taken part in many productions over the past 3 years, and prior to that took part annually in my secondary school musical, so I have some level of experience, but when it boils down to it I'm a singer–actor first and by NO means a triple-threat.

Is it really worth taking the risk or should I put the idea out of my head and focus more on something I've already proven to be good at?

So with Adriana Hicks (unfortunately) having to leave early, would Khalia also be starting at an earlier date??

According to IG, Aiyana and Lauyrn are only scheduled till may 8th.
