This was my first season following the team. I got sick in August and ending up binging all the seasons of Welcome to Wrexham in 2 days. I am an avid sports fan, but had never had a football club that I was able to truly feel like I cared about. That changed this year! After finishing the doc, I couldn’t wait to start following the team and looked up when the season started.. and I only had to wait 2 days!

I woke up at 3:50 that Saturday to watch the game vs. Southampton. I am sad to admit that I did fall asleep in the 85th minute. I woke up a few hours later assuming we had won, and boy of boy was it a bummer to see how those dang Saints pulled it out. I continued to wake up early all season to watch the games live so that I could participate in the game threads. I don’t have anyone in my life that also follows Wrexham, so that was truly so fun for me to chat with y’all through the highs and lows of this remarkable season.

I only missed one game all season, and it was because I was at a music festival. Following the team this year was truly one of the things that brought me the most joy and the second the final whistle would blow, I couldn’t wait for the next game!

I waited all season to buy a personalized jersey so I could get to know the lads, and ended up buying a Windass jersey an hour before kickoff on the final match day. That free kick goal he scored was absolutely electric!

Anywho.. the goofy part of this is that I am an individual who farts a lot. So Windass has a double meaning for me, and always makes me chuckle!
