RR v7.0 has been lagging?

I just updated and played the new retro rewind update and I noticed a lack in preference. I play on a og wii and have had no issues with rr in the past. The new custom skins and their selection menus have been extremely glitchy and laggy especially. I bet that this will be patched but I want to know if anybody else has experienced this aswell?
