Passed My Exam Today - AT/AT/AT

Hi All,

I took the exam this morning and found out I passed through the Pearson Website, so I wanted to come on here and make a post. This community was outrageously helpful to me during my time of study.

I actually started off doing and passing the CAPM certification that PMI offers, so this gave me kind of a leg up in the pre-existing knowledge category. Not recommended or needed at all, but my job was paying for it so I figured why not.

Anyways, I started off with AR'S 35 Hr Udemy Course and quickly noticed it was all the same info (more or less) that I learned in his 23 Hr CAPM exam. He had a few more sections for the mindset and test-taking tips. This course is a must, it's pretty dragging, but necessary to establish a base-knowledge in my opinion.

After skimming through AR, I purchased a Study Hall prescription. This will be your greatest asset, directly correlated to PMI and honestly even had some verbatim questions on the test. Do the minis and the mock exams. I even played around with the "Sudden Death" mini-game because it was a quick way to get some questions in front of me. Looking back, the first 3 SH mock exams are what you should focus on, the 4th and 5th are exponentially harder and are frankly not necessary. I was pulling high 70s on the mocks and felt pretty prepared. I would say anything above a 75 and you should feel pretty good to pass with high marks.

Next, I bought AR's TIA simulator, I really would recommend skipping out on this, the questions are written pretty poorly and they are much easier than what was on the actual test. I bounced back and forth between this and SH until I figured it wasn't helping me.

I found this cool site here: https://pmaspirant.com/project-management-process-group-and-knowledge-area-mapping-game It is a process mapping game, the test didn't have any outright process memorization questions, so try and score above a 90 on this game repeatedly and you should be good in regards to predictive processes and the test.

I saw many people recommending this video from AR: 200 Ultra Hard PMP Questions 1-200 I followed along for a majority of the questions. These, as opposed to TIA were a little more challenging and were very helpful in pinning down the mindset.

Biggest tip: LEARN THE MINDSET. You will not pass without it. You need to answer the questions how PMI wants you to, forget everything you know about anything lol.

In my final days of study I found this vid as well, from the same firm as the game I linked above: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z-teNScLspI&list=PLaZjaTadwi1us_un7S4SwMT3d-6vusC3l I thought it was helpful to nail down agile PMP mindset as well.

I took a piece from a lot of "material-pies", but I think that's why the exam went well for me. I spent most of my time in Study Hall though, highly recommend. Honestly, and I can't speak for anyone else, the exam was much much easier than a SH mockup. The questions were much shorter and felt less "let me fuck with your head". If you are getting merked in SH, don't worry, it happens to everyone, the questions are literal backwards. That being said, it is still easily the most important resource due to the proximity of the actual test.

Final Tips:

  1. Learn the Mindset

  2. Use Study Hall

  3. Be confident, attack the questions with your PMI knowledge-base

  4. Don't get discouraged, turn confusion/wrong answers/negative thoughts into driving motivators to conquer this exam

Any questions, feel free to drop below!

PMP Test Results Timeline

Hi All,

Just took the test, anyone have an idea on receiving scores back? Short little sentence said 48hrs, but on PMI it's showing up to 5 days?

Study Hall Vent

The Study Hall questions are pretty long-winded, is that what is to be expected on the actual exam?

Additionally, wondering if anyone else finds some of the questions and answers absolutely preposterous (was looking for a word and landed on that lol). Excuse the venting, but some of these answers are so farfetched, I have stopped blaming myself for getting them wrong. Anyone else feel the same way or do I just need to hit the books more?
