Could this be a beaten up Fluted Point? Or is it just a natural fracture that makes it look like it’s fluted? In SC creek.

It was in a sandy/rocky sand bar in the creek, which is usually submerged behind a small dam that crosses the creek, in North Central SC. There’s a lot of quartz, and I thought that was what this rock was before I cleaned it. Now, I’m thinking granite or quartz with feldspar maybe. Regardless, that notched pattern at the base seems almost like some early point types I’ve seen in the Carolinas. But, I’m very skeptical for a few reasons.

Thanks for the help.

I feel sure this is just a geometrically shaped piece of quartz, or similar material, but wanted to check here before throwing it out.

I’m not seeing any typical signs of work; it honestly looks like a quartz crystal. Those are typically clear quartz, from what I find locally. With all that being said, I’ve never seen this specific material fracture in this way and I find this material a lot, on my property. Anyway, I’d basically just like confirmation it’s JAR before I toss it out. And if anyone knows, or has an idea of, what this material is, that would be awesome. Quartz Sandstone? I’m in Chesterfield Co., SC.
