BIOL 212 Professor Recommendations

Has anyone had Mohammad Ahmed or Barrie Abdulai for BIOL 212? If so, how are they?

On the other hand, any other BIOL 212 professor recommendations? Any professors to avoid? I can't do accelerated due to my current circumstances, so Janis Gallagher and Mark Burke are off the table for me.

Returning to college after many years. How are people preparing nowadays?

Last time I was in school, everything was literally pen and paper. If I recall, I didnt really started using Canvas until like the junior/senior year of my old university back then. Even then, I was still submitting things in person on a physical paper. Now, everything is digital.

Going back to college for a new career. I’ve looked up online how everything in college is done online. I got myself a new tablet & pen for that already. I tried looking throughout reddit for an answer to my specific question(s) but I couldnt find one.

I’m wondering if that’s basically it? Do I still need a folder, notebook, pens, or etc? Or, will I be carrying too many unnecessary items? Anything else I may be missing? Sorry if this is an extremely dumb question. I’d just like to know before the first day of school comes for me. I don’t want to be scrambling for new school materials one class starts here, especially for a stem course.

As of now, ill just be taking an in person biology class with a lab.

Any and all other tips are appreciated too, especially since AI is now here. Thank you!

iPad Pro 2nd gen 11 in (2020) in 2026 and beyond as a student?

How does the 11 in iPad Pro 2nd gen, released in 2020, still stand today in 2026? I got it as a gift back in 2020, and I'm now planning to return to school. I'm intending to stay in school from 2026 until around 2031/2032. I'm not so sure if this iPad will actually last until then, or if I should seek a replacement instead before I start school in the coming weeks. Ideally I want to get a new device at the beginning instead of having to switch out midway through my program.

Obviously the product still works great from my POV, but my main concern is that Apple may eventually stop releasing updates to this particular model while I'm in the program. I'm not so sure how it'll pan out if such updates stops rolling in, and how these updates will impact the apps, especially note taking apps, I'll use.

Pharm Tech Trainee Application

Does anyone know how long it takes to get a pharmacy tech trainee license approved, specifically in DC? I applied a couple of days ago and everything in my application still says pending aside from the fingerprint, which has already been cleared for me.

Also, for CVS specifically, what would exactly happen if I accept the job, finish the onboarding, and given a start date, but I still wont have an active license yet since it’s pending?

Question about pre-planned vacations

Hi! I just got an offer to work as a part time pharmacy technician at CVS. I havent accepted it yet. I’m just wondering how time off, attendance, etc works at the pharmacy.

I was told attendance for training is strict in that one absence, it’s a write up, and two absences is termination during training. My main concern, (completely forgot since I was slightly nervous during the interview) is my realization that I already have a trip booked in September during labor day weekend. I’m assuming it’ll coincide with the training. Will they not accommodate that at all? Will I have to push my start date?

Also, I already booked plane tickets to see family that I haven’t seen in years out of state during Christmas and New Years. I was told that full timers get approved for time off first before part timers. Is there anyway I can work around that? As in im willing to work more hours before or after my trip.

I understand I may not get paid during my days off. I absolutely dont mind that. I’ve yet to find a job before this one that pays me on my days off or gives me pto.

I want to accept it since the job market is rough and I don’t really have options here. Also, the two trips I’m talking about are both trips that I already bought plane tickets and etc for. Just wondering how itll pan out for the above.

Hi! I applied for a non-clinical job at Mt. Sinai (ie Billing Specialist) a month ago. They have a couple up that I applied to. The position has been under consideration since. I also noticed that job posting has been up since September of 2025.

I’m just wondering how long does it take to hear back? Or did I applied to ghost jobs on their actual career page?

I’m also from out of state so I don’t know if this means I’m just immediately rejected due to geographic reasons without knowing….
