Curious how serious bike theft is in Seattle. I obviously see a lot of stolen bikes at homeless encampments, and I was wondering if it’s more a crime of opportunity or if it’s more serious targeted bike thefts?

I have secure bike parking at work down town, and have a decent bike lock (but not like a 200 dollar lock) but I’m wondering how safe my bike will be if I park it at the gym/coffee shop/grocery etc.

I live in Beacon Hill west of Jefferson park and mostly frequent Mt. Baker, Columbia city and Georgetown.
