Modeled after Michelangelo’s version of “The torment of St Anthony”
This was suggested to me by a fellow redditor months ago. I can’t find the messages between us so if it was you comment so I can edit the post! I’ve been working on this since February. It was my second attempt at doing this painting. I tried to throw as many Bojack references as I could through out it. The ones I want to point out either because it was fun to do or so other people don’t miss them are these:
(SPOILERS BELOW)
-The shoe falling off the bird. I found this comment posted 6 years ago by u/Librablu3 on this post. It says “Apparently in some cultures a bird entering your house is an omen someone is going to die. Also read that the birds shoe falling off is a reference to the idiom ‘waiting for the other shoe to drop’ which came to mean ‘waiting for something you knew was coming’”
-The letter from Hollyhock
-S6 E12 ‘Xerox of a Xerox’ Biscuits Braxby asks bojack during his interview “How do you feel when you see Sarah Lynn’s face on a billboard with the slogan ‘I’d die for a Pepsi’”
-Doll
-Planetarium
-All the people in this painting are from the ‘The View from Halfway Down’
Last slide was my first time trying these renaissance recreations of my favorite shows. It was done is 2023 started a couple of weeks after I had gotten a TBI. I thought I couldn’t get better at painting, (I thought I had capped on how much I could teach myself) and I’m proud now that I feel like this one I just did came out so much better.

ETA: u/thispartyrules is the one who suggested this to me months ago!
