HELP NEEDED
Hey there. Myself Sarang Patel from Vadodara, Gujarat. I am currently a fresh Grade 12 passout student from ISC board where I scored 64% in my board exams and 72% in Grade 10 ICSE. I have prepared for and attempted this year’s RE NEET 2026 paper and I am unfortunately expecting around 175/720.
So basically I’m a average student.
I am aware that with this score in NEEt it is almost impossible to get into MBBS. However even if I cannot get through the general quota, I am a US citizen by birth and can apply through the NRI quota also.
Since I was in Grade 6, I am very much interested in Biology and scored the best out of all alongside English. As I was going through the large amount of courses available for college I was confused about what should I choose.
I already had MBBS thoughts going in my mind for a few months and once I saw a few videos of MBBS books and students freaking out I backed out of fear. “Oh, how am I going to get through all this tough stuff.” , “If these big guys can freak out and struggle to even pass then what would happen to me?”, “MBBS is the toughest of all, don’t come in here.”
and all other sorts of thoughts came and went through my mind. I had other options for me such as BSC in BMLTS, BAOTT, BDS, Radiology, Anesthetics etc but me and my parents think that these are all niche level, low value and easy degrees which would max out you ₹10-20k per month plus struggling for jobs. Out of every few people, every other guy out there has a MBBS degree who has either opened up a small clinic or is unemployed and low-paid. Instead of getting into MBBS with any of these as a specialist would get more value than a BSc degree taken from some random university nearby like Parul, Navrachna or CHARUSAT. So I’m mixed up, confused in thoughts.
I need some guidance on the reality of an MBBS degree and whether I should go for MBBS and then a speciality or go for a BSC plus master’s in one of those mentioned. You can suggest me other courses too.
Thank You.
