If I submitted an extension request on Wednesday (12 Aug) for a written assessment original due date tomorrow (19 Aug, 7am) but still have no outcome by today (18 Aug), what is the most appropriate next step?

Atypical gout symptoms

It took my GPs a decade to finally make a rheumatology referral. It's probably because I do not exhibit the typical gout flare of swelling, redness, or warmth in the affected joint. Today as I was looking at my toe, I can't see any difference when comparing it to my right toe, but I know this is gout pain.

Are there other people here who also have atypical symptoms like mine?

Yet another gout flare

At the beginning of the year, my allopurinol dose was reduced because my uric acid level was at the lower limit of the acceptable range.

A few weeks ago, I experienced a gout flare in my toe joint. It was relatively mild (pain score 4-5/10). Only bothered me when I walked. Today, less than a month later, I am having the pain in the same toe.

Is it time to go back up to my previous dose? I will speak to my GP, just want to vent and see if others here experienced this.

I have not had a flare in more than a year. And now, the flare is less than a month apart. I'm annoyed. lol

canvas and official grade mismatch

A subject's final grade on the My Study page is a couple of points higher than Canvas, based on calculating the assessment scores. I triple checked the calculation.

Also, the grades last Sem has asterisks next to it.

Not complaining, just curious what happened but don't want to contact the coordinator lol

Reducible inguinal hernia with daily pain

My ultrasound showed a reducible fat-containing right inguinal hernia with a hernial neck measuring 11 × 12 mm.
Looking back, I had a dull groin ache and noticed a small bulge quite a while ago. The pain eventually disappeared, so I forgot about it.

About a month ago, the ache returned and has become a daily problem. When I wake up, the bulge is usually gone and I’m pain-free. As the day goes on, especially after being upright for a few hours, the ache gradually returns and the bulge becomes quite noticeable. Lying down overnight makes both the pain and bulge disappear again.

I live in Melbourne, Australia. We have universal healthcare, and I also have BUPA private health insurance that covers hernia repair. This isn’t an emergency, but the daily discomfort is affecting my quality of life and my job, so I’m hoping to have it repaired sooner rather than later.

I have my first GP appointment next week (earliest available).

For those who have been through this:
-Does this pattern of symptoms sound typical?
-Is there anything that helped with the discomfort while waiting to see a surgeon?
-Any advice on preparing for surgery or questions I should ask my GP?

72 kg, 181 cm, male.

Canvas and facial ID verification

I can still log in to canvas on iPhone using Okta verify but not facial ID anymore. I think this happened after the worldwide security beach.

Has anyone else encountered this and how did you resolve this?

Empty library desks

I understand students don't want to lose their places in the library but the amount of computers and desks with no students for long periods is really annoying. I'm glad there's no rampant stealing (if any) but people just leave their laptops, airpods, etc. lying around unattended. Rant over.
