I do love the contrast between the two Captains that Dedra worked with

Mainly the difference in their power dynamic with Dedra and their work "ethic".

Captain Tigo is younger, less experienced, brash/hot headed, unnecessarily cruel (hanging a tortured prisoner for no reason), etc.

The one thing that was expected of him to do was stay put and "waste time" and he couldn't even do that. He took Marva's speech too personally, tipped over B2EMO, which led to the riot.

It was so satisfying seeing him crawl on the ground trying to escape the mob.

Also being under Dedra in the chain of command, you can see how Dedra's dismissive of him - putting off his suggestions or ideas, and even interrupting him. I did find it funny how he was eager to have dinner with Dedra though.

Captain Kaido is older, more experienced, calm (and not the good kind of calm), resourceful (using young soldiers for propaganda), etc. And even though he's under Dedra in the chain of command, Partagaz explicitly made it clear that he's in charge of the tactical operation.

We don't even have any scene of Dedra trying to countermand him or put him off. That line of his "Orders, please.... Supervisor Meero" with a smile, it wasn't asking for an order, it was commanding Dedra to give thee order.

And instead of carelessly putting himself in a position where the crowd could easily get to him, he eerily stands behind the window watching the chaos. And just leaves unscathed.

Obviously Ferrix and Ghorman are two different missions, which requires different kind of officers. And it's not like Dedra can just ignore Kaido, she'd be in trouble with Partagaz if she did.

And Ghorman was a top priority while Ferrix is kinda like a side nuisance for the Empire as a whole.

But I do wonder if the writers intentionally wrote in Captains for both Ferrix and Ghorman. And those two Captains just so happen to be wearing imperial rain ponchos. Or in Tigo's case, it was a ballgown.
Just to emphasize the difference. We even have Tigo asking Blevin if he could be made prefect and the next time he shows up, he has his "ballgown". While Kaido just showed up in it.

Also a pretty good contrast is Tigo happily reacting to Dedra's presence. His "Oh, you're here :D" asking her for dinner. Which Dedra rejected. But with Kaido, she's told "Make sure you're available".

Just to add: Is Kaido's actor just shorter than Tigo's and Gorn's? Because looking up the imperial poncho, I noticed that Kaido's worked more as a cape because it reaches his feet. While Tigo and Gorn's poncho just reaches their waist.
Funny if Kaido got his poncho customized. The Empire is full of divas.

Never felt the pain of having a glup shitto until this show

I did have my Glup Shitto before Andor, which was Sergeant Kreel from Marvel's SW comics run, but I immediately got over it when they screwed over his character in the long run. Which ruined the character's appeal to me.

Now Andor introduced me to my new and questionable Glup Shitto: Captain Kaido.

This character is a mix of did not over stay + runtime effectively used and potential to explore in a self-contained sequel or prequel story.

Which results to the dilemma of wanting more of the character, but knowing that he could be ruined in doing so.

But seriously? I know the character is fortunately named but he is also so obscure that there's not even a concept art of him or his fit (I checked the costume designer's instagram), not even a BTS photo from the actor, or a costume-test photo, promotional material BTS, etc.

I never knew having a glup shitto would be this hard since this show 😭

Just saw this on Jonjo O'Neill's instagram. It's probably a fan gift since he attended Star Wars Fan Fun Day today.

And I was wondering if this is customized or if it's an actual figure? I live in a country where Legos aren't really that popular (and where merchandise aren't easy to get).

So it might just be not turning up on my searches.

When I say "Empire" I meant the Star Wars' Empire, but also the Empire magazine could work in this context too.

So remember when Rosario Dawson's Ahsoka, Ewan McGregor's Obi Wan, Diego Luna's Cassian and Pedro Pascal's Din Djarin had a photoshoot? I loved it for sure, but a photoshoot between Star Wars characters from different shows/timeline wasn't something I badly wanted until I was introduced to Andor's ISB characters (or their Imperial characters in general).

Now I so badly want like a bad guys/villain photoshoot featuring Imperial characters across timelines. With a format similar to this ☝🏻 like they aren't just photoshopped over each other, but actually standing with each other. But also wearing their costumes.

What I would give to see a picture with Palpatine, Vader, Tarkin, Yularen, Thrawn, Krennic, Partagaz, Dedra, Kaido, Syril (?), Lagret, Blevin, Gideon, Inquisitors, etc... like a crossover of Imperial characters from different movies/shows/timelines too. It's just a shame we can't have the ones from OT like Piett 🫤.
