Something’s missing on the bed but I also worry this is still too flat. And is the rabbit distracting? How can I tone it down?

Something’s missing on the bed but I also worry this is still too flat. And is the rabbit distracting? How can I tone it down?

Context: So this is my original character Elfie. She has the ability to see spirits (the one that hangs around her the most is a white bunny that carries around a moon). One of the problems I’m having is that I feel like I should add an object or spirit on the left side to balance everything out, and logically my brain says “well obviously a stuffed animal or a book” but I keep thinking that’s “boring” because I keep wanting to add something more unique to her and her character. I thought about another spirit but a generic ghost is definitely a bad idea because there’s already a white object in the piece so too much white will be distracting (well and I’m paranoid that the bunny is too white/dominant and is already distracting from Elfie but I don’t know how to tone it down). I could come up with a more unique spirit character but then we get into character design and trying to come up with an original creature is not my strong suit. My mind is just blank.

The other issue I’m finding is that I’m wondering if the blanket looks too flat?? I keep trying to add lines and shadows but no matter how many I add and smooth them out it still comes out flat. Speaking of flat, is Elfie’s face too flat? I added some more shadows in different spots especially the background because I feel like I didn’t add enough overall & the piece just keeps looking too flat.

Totally welcome any advice!!
