Thinking of coming back. What have I missed?
Hey all! Moved to Calgary in June 2020 thinking bigger was better, a gay dating pool is better than a gay dating puddle, and needed a change. Lived in Lethbridge from 1999-2001 and 2004-2020. Enjoyed it but was told I needed to move out of Lethbridge if I wanted to advance. Was then denied advancement by the same employer at every possible turn so I found a new job.
Kind of thinking of relocating now. where I work has an option to work from Lethbridge, but I think it’s a little difficult to transfer.
I know the dating puddle hasn’t changed but what they don’t tell you about the dating pool in Calgary is that someone has pissed in it. I know that the gay world in Lethbridge is also minuscule compared to Calgary, but also maybe a little less shallow and superficial (looking at you bougie downtown condo gays). Size is not a reflection of quality. And I’m sick of commuting every day. And yes, I know that there are a lot of religious and very conservative types in Lethbridge, some of who can be annoying, but for the most part, it’s nothing I haven’t dealt with and even worked alongside or got along with before.
Long story short, what have I missed? What has changed? Because from where I sit, and having gone down there, I see more I could live with again if I had to then things that repel me from it.
