I’ve been on a deep dive of FNM this last couple weeks. Loved the band since I saw them open formMetallica on the Justice tour. I love the whole catalog, but man did they lose something special when Jim Martin left. I don’t think anyone sounds like him. Seriously, he just has a pathos and vibe to his playing and tone that I miss on the last three albums.

Not a place to just spill negativity. But I find myself feeling like a lost MOTU fan. I was born in '73 and MOTU was my favorite toy line. It even knocked Star Wars out of the top spot when it came out.

Then, the Filmation cartoon happened and it destroyed all of the amazing tone and dark sword and sorcery of the mini comics. I don't know why I was hoping the movie would capture that more nuanced tone. But what I saw was just more Filmation style silliness.

Anyone else in that same camp? Or am I that old and uncommon a fan?
