Veganism, carbs and lipedema
So, I'm vegan, which means I eat alot of legumes, like chickpeas, beans, etc. All these contain alot of carbs, but also fiber and protein. (Now, I'm not diagnosed, but I do have heaviness and other lipedema signs.) Alot of people say Keto is the best for lipedema, but I cant eat that little carbs with my current diet (and I dont eat this way for my health, but for moral reasons).
- Do fiberous carbs mean less inflammation?
- Is really keto best or do you have better experiences with other "diets"?
- Experiences with veganism and lipedema? Good or bad?
For info, I'm 18, so no menopause or pregnancy (if hormonal events have any effect in terms of diet). Only big hormonal events in my lige have been normal puberty, birth control (the one in the arm), and some pretty bad eating habits for a while which i think fucked with my hormones. Im only mentioning this because I heard hormones affect inflammation, which again has to be fixed with diet.
I'll add that I'm also pretty new to veganism, AND my lipedema symptoms have become more obvious to me recebtly (not connected, i think, symptoms came before I became vegan), so idk, I have very little experience with this
Ofc, I'll have a talk with my doctor, but since lipedema doesnt seem like widesoread knowledge in the healthcare system yet, I figured I could ask people with the experience first!
I'll take any advice I can get!
(Sorry I'm not good at getting to my point, but I hope I got it across😁. English is also not my first language so sorry for any mistakes!)
