Are they scars?
The biggest offenders of this are definitely artificer and rivulet. The thing with them is that both of their biggest weaknesses aren’t tied to the slugcats themselves, but their campaign. Artificer’s double jump and explosive stun are SO damn powerful. This, of course, is balanced out with their permanently zero scav rep and water intolerance. Which… doesn’t really matter in arena mode. Those things can easily be ignored if you simply don’t add in scavengers or pick a map with water. This leads to artificer being both absolute hell to play as in story mode, and absolute hell to play against in arena mode. Rivulet is so speedy it’s insane, making evading creatures like >!RED LIZARDS!< a walk in the park. This, of course, is balanced out by their short cycle timer and later on the >!rarefaction cell that takes up BOTH of their two inventory slots.!< Which again… doesn’t matter in arena mode. The cycle timer limit is easily adjustable in arena mode, and the >!rarefaction cell!< isn’t needed here. This leads to rivulet—like artificer—being both hard to play as in story mode, and hard to play against in arena mode.
Then there are saint and watcher who are kinda the complete opposite actually! The OP abilities that they >!gain late-game!< don’t quite count in arena, which turns them into really mediocre picks. This leads to them being both easy to play as in (>!late-game!<) story mode, and easy to play against in arena mode. :P
Maybe this is why artificer overheats and saint freezes in the cold. Both of them just really suck at adapting to the environment lol
Not very proud of this but oh well
We need to get rid of all water ASAP!!!
Scugification for u/Bitter_Expression399
As per the magenta pearl inside of shoreline, we learn that most organisms here descend from purposed organisms. I don’t see people discuss their thoughts about this often, so I thought it would be cool if you maybe shared your headcanons on their initial roles :)
^(Excluding the obvious ones like miros birds and iterators of course. Unless you thought about further details?)
It’s been out for a while, and despite it adding SO MUCH content to the game and (in my opinion) replay-ability, I rarely see anything about it.
I get that the hype for it has certainly died down, but hasn’t it for downpour too?
Why not just one?
Why did it turn into a bean too…
(Ignore the mark of communication, they’re just very smart)
I just lost it inside of expedition mode permanently, because the game freaked out...
How come it didn’t spawn anywhere for me to go and retrieve it? Even if the position where I ”died“ didn’t save, couldn’t you just put it outside my shelter, or somewhere random at least? Why does it have to disappear?
I obviously can’t get a new one because expedition, so I guess I’ll just have to tough it out :(
Rare blue lizard W?
Maybe it’s just because I’m lucky, but I don’t ever seem to starve unless I do it on purpose.
Edit: outside of expedition ofc I completely forgot about that </3
Simply have a watcher slugcat carry you on their back, have them pick up a spear and then have them go invisible
Yin and yang, I guess?
