Does anyone know when the tradition of epigraphs before each chapter started in historical romances? Was there a particular author (or authors) who are attributed with being the first to do it?
My favorite book by Comyns is “The Vet’s Daughter” by far.
I feel like people don’t know her work enough (at least in America) and she is such a weird girl! You never know where her novels and characters are going to take you.
I LOVED Sunyi Dean’s first novel “The Book Eaters” so I’m really excited and have high hopes for this one! Anyone else start reading it yet?
