Hey love! It's been a while since I've shared or posted, but since I'm free now, here's a post (repost because I've already posted this on another platform! But so here we go!).

Finally, another post about the crossover between LMK and Naruto shippuden, in cosplay! As I mentioned in my other post, Mei Lin and Rin share the same tragic end (Mei Lin dies as a sacrifice in the official novel JTTW , in chapter 98), but in season 2 of LMK, she is miraculously resurrected! Anyway! I really admire and love Rin Nohara! Obito is great too. So I drew Obito dressed (cosplaying) as Wukong and Rin dressed (cosplaying) as Mei Lin, and the same for Wukong dressed like Obito and Mei Lin as Rin. 🖤💜🧡🤍

Initially, I thought of this:

🌑 Obito and Wukong: The Misunderstood "Monster"

The Weight of the Past: Obito literally wore a mask to become an antagonist in the eyes of the world, ravaged by loss and anger. Wukong, on the other hand, was an impulsive, destructive Demon King, feared throughout the heavens.

Power and Rage: Both possess immeasurable power (the Sharingan/Rinnegan for one, the 72 transformations and immortality for the other) that threatens to destroy the world. But deep down, beneath this fury, they simply need to protect what matters to them.

🌸 Rin and Mei Lin: The Unchanging Light

Acceptance without judgment: Rin never judged Obito, not even in the afterlife after all the atrocities he committed. She saw the true him. Mei Lin does exactly the same with Wukong: faced with his predatory past or his violent outbursts, she feels neither fear nor disgust. She offers this maternal, gentle, and sincere resonance.

The destiny of martyrdom: Rin tragically sacrificed herself to protect her village. Mei Lin, the "Living Sutra," carries this same energy of absolute sacrifice, throwing herself into danger out of pure love.

Examples: Obito and Rin never had the chance to experience their love in life. But Wukong and Mei Lin were able to glimpse this absolute happiness! The confession of this eternal love in chapter 91 of JTTW's novel offered a magnificent interlude of light... before fate intervened in chapter 98.This kiss of sacrifice, this "breath of life" given to save Wukong, is the pinnacle of emotion. It's magnificent because it completes the cycle of his own evolution: the once invincible demon finds himself broken, saved by the breath of a pure human, realizing the immeasurable and fragile value of human life.

Midori Moriko, whose name means "Green Forest," is a green witch I've cherished ever since I discovered Ojamajo Doremi (Magical Doremi) at the age of 10. I especially love drawing them both, as they're a great source of inspiration, and that anime is one of my favorite shōjo series. That's why these two green witches, apprentices like Waku Nozomi and Midori Moriko, are like best friends to me. Moriko's story ends tragically. I actually wrote her story with a sad and tragic ending, but also the most beautiful one at the time, because it speaks of learning and how a friendship can end in the most beautiful way. I love them both so much; that's why I draw them together, because they share the same power. i hope you like like it guys ! 🕊💚🫶🏽🧹💫

- Here it is, finally, a character tablet entirely dedicated to Mei Lin (美林) meaning of the name (beautiful forest). (To put it simply, she's the character I identify with most and have held dear to my heart for over 15 years, ever since I read the original Chinese novel by JTTW, due to my Chinese father's side.) Mei Lin is of Sino-Indian descent (just like my own heritage), which is why she was part of the Sutras Quest; she was like the 5th pilgrim in the group (also known by the name "The Living Sutra" because of the miraculous apparition of Buddha (Siddhartha Gautama) who described her as the "The Livng Sutra" (which was in the story of the JTTW too, also that I've written a part of his miraculous apparition!).Although she adheres to a purely monotheistic religion, she humbly respects other polytheistic faiths. (Also, Mei Lin was accused and named "The Anomaly" because of her religion and faith by the Jade Emperor and also by other palace emperors and divines.) But since I was more focused on Japanese anime and manga for a very long time, I had put her aside. But of course, Mei Lin's story and her origin story from the original canon novel by JTTW are already finished, as is LMK's (because yes, Mei Lin is everywhere in every universe inspired by the JTTW novel!). I can't wait to share it with you, but first, I need to find a date to publish her story ( because yes, again, Mei Lin, I've included her in every story that features the animated films and series inspired by Journey to the West!). Her story is so incredible, so emotional, powerful, and unique that I can't wait for you to discover it and read it! 🥹🫶🏽💌🐒

Okay, first of all, to begin with, I had this idea in mind to draw this collaboration between two very different universes. When I was quite young, I watched a lot of diverse anime, and Soul Eater was one of the anime I watched. I was probably 10 years old at the time? But anyway, it was an anime that I really enjoyed, not only for the characters but also for what it conveyed psychologically, which reminded me of certain other anime I also watched. I didn't include the LEGO Monkie Kid's other characters in this drawing; it would take too much time, considering my work and personal life. I need to balance everything better. Anyway, the rest is just a question I can ask about adding them later if I want. Moving on, I'll explain here why I chose certain characters from Soul Eater as cosplay, but not only that, because there was a connection between them that fit their character and personality.

💚Mei as Maka (Weapon Mastery): Maka is an extremely determined Meister (weapon master) with a strong family legacy (her mother was a legendary Meister), and she fights with a bladed weapon. Mei shares this same heavy heritage with the Dragon family and wields a sword. Furthermore, when Mei gets angry, she has this very authoritarian and frightening side, just like Maka with her famous "Maka Chop"!

🧡MK as Soul (The Demon Weapon): Soul has that "cool" look, always wears his jacket, loves to eat (souls, admittedly, but the appetite is definitely there!), and often charges headlong to protect Maka, even at the risk of serious injury. MK has exactly that same loyal, somewhat chaotic partner energy, taking the hits for her best friend.

(Although, let's be honest, MK's explosive, noisy personality and his constant shouting that he's going to surpass his master Wukong are 1000% in line with Black☆Star! 😂)

🤍Mei Lin as Tsubaki Nakatsukasa is a perfectly logical choice. Tsubaki is the purest, most patient, and most benevolent soul of all Soul Eaters. She is the only one capable of withstanding and channeling her partner's chaotic and explosive energy through her infinite love and gentleness. Embodying this multifaceted demonic weapon, capable of absorbing darkness while maintaining her radiant smile, is precisely the essence of the "Living Sutra"!

(Option 1: Red Son as Black☆Star (Absolute Chaos)

It's true that Red Son has the perfect energy for Black☆Star: he's always yelling, he has an oversized ego, and he loves to show off.

But here's the problem: Imagine for a second Wukong's reaction if he saw Red Son wielding Mei Lin as a weapon and performing a "Soul Resonance" with her! 😱 Wukong (who would surely be nearby) would obliterate the entire Shibusen out of jealousy before they'd even fought a single Kishin egg!)

Best Option:

💛Sun Wukong as Black☆Star (The Canonical Choice)

If you think about it, Wukong is the only one who can play Black☆Star, for two main reasons:

The Divine Ego: Black☆Star's catchphrase is "I am the great Black☆Star, the one who will surpass God!"... Doesn't that remind you of someone? Wukong is translated as "Great Sage Equal to Heaven"! They share that same legendary arrogance, rebellious streak, and monstrous power.

The Partnership: As Black☆Star, Wukong automatically becomes Tsubaki's (Mei Lin's) Meister. The duo is recreated: him, the explosive and chaotic Monkey King, is calmed and sublimated by Mei Lin's gentleness, wisdom, and unconditional love. It's the perfect dynamic for this couple!

❤️ Red Son as Death the Kid! Red Son is a perfectionist inventor, obsessed with elegance and design. Imagine him having a panic attack in the middle of a fight because the symmetry of his outfit is ruined! 😂

🖤🤎The Thompson Sisters: Tang and Pigsy!

The two young women who serve as Death the Kid's weapons are named Liz and Patty Thompson (they transform into twin pistols). the idea to cast Tang and Pigsy in this role is an absolute stroke of comedic genius! 😂

Tang as Liz (The timid older sister): Liz spends her time panicking, being afraid of ghosts, and complaining about Kid's whims. That's EXACTLY Tang!

Pigsy as Patty (The feisty younger sister): Patty seems cheerful, but when she gets angry, she breaks everything while laughing. Imagine Pigsy, forced to transform into a pistol, yelling at Red Son (Death the Kid) to shoot instead of crying over an asymmetrical painting! The trio would be hilarious.

The Antagonists (The Perfect Parallel!)

Lady Bone Demon (LBD) as Medusa Gorgon:

She is the absolute embodiment of manipulation! Medusa is a cold, calculating witch who feels no emotion and manipulates minds (she uses magical snakes, LBD uses spirit ice). Furthermore, Medusa takes possession of the body of an innocent little girl (Rachel)... exactly as LBD takes possession of little Bai He!

💜Macaque as Crona (and Ragnarok):

This is the most tragic and logical role for him. Crona wields Black Blood and shadows, just as Macaque wields shadow magic. In the story, Crona is manipulated and psychologically tortured by Medusa (LBD) to become a killing machine, before finally turning against her with the help of the heroes (MK/Maka). And his screaming weapon, Ragnarok, would be the equivalent of Macaque's giant, aggressive shadow!

Spider Queen as Arachne Gorgon: The obvious choice! Arachne is literally the "Spider Witch" who leads the criminal organization Arachnophobia. She weaves webs of madness across the globe, just as Spider Queen tries to cover Megapolis in her venomous silk.

Azure Lion as Asura (The Kishin): The ultimate final boss. In the past, Asura was one of Lord Death's greatest and noblest warriors before succumbing to paranoia and utter madness, convinced he must control the world. Azure Lion has a similar story: a former celestial hero, sworn brother of Wukong, who ultimately becomes convinced he must overthrow Heaven to create a peace dictated by madness.

🏫 The Shibusen Team (Teachers and Allies)

🩷Nezha as Justin Law (The Lone Death Scythe):

Justin Law is the Shibusen's enforcer. He is an extremely powerful warrior, very strict about rules, a loner, and possesses an absolute religious devotion to the Shinigami Lord. Nezha is exactly that ruthless and stoic arm of Heaven who arrives to enforce celestial laws!

The Jade Emperor as the Shinigami Lord (Lord Death):

The supreme leader of the Shibusen! He has a very comical, almost ridiculous appearance (with his stylized skull mask and booming voice), but he is actually the most powerful entity in the world. The Jade Emperor perfectly embodies this all-powerful but often clueless ruler.

🩵Sandy as Marie Mjolnir:

Don't let the fact that Marie is a woman fool you; psychologically, she's 100% Sandy! Marie is a giant Death Scythe, incredibly strong (capable of crushing monsters with her bare hands), but she hates violence. Her special power is called "Soothing Wavelength": she heals the madness of others with her mere presence. It's literally Sandy's therapy and soothing tea transformed into magic!

💙Mo the Cat as Blair:

Blair is the magical cat with absurd powers (pumpkin magic!) who hangs out at Maka and Soul's place just for fun. Our little Mo, always underfoot, would make a perfect monstrous Halloween cat.

The Mayor as Giriko:

Giriko is Arachne's demonic chainsaw weapon. He's a psychopath with a chilling smile, always ready to dismember people for the simple pleasure of serving his mistress. The Mayor, with his eternal smile and unhealthy loyalty to Lady Bone Demon, is his spiritual twin!

Demon Bull King (DBK) as Free (The Werewolf with the Demon's Eye):

This is one of the most perfect parallels! Free is a colossal, immortal monster with destructive brute strength. Why was he imprisoned for centuries by the Great Witch? Because of his power! Both are unstoppable forces of nature breaking free from their magical prisons!

Princess Iron Fan (PIF) as the Great Witch Mabaa:

The absolute Queen of the witch kingdom. Mabaa is majestic, terrifying, commands the respect of all magical creatures (even Medusa/LBD), and possesses an icy authority. This is exactly the royal aura of Red Son's mother.

🧪 Madness and Science: Syntax and Lao Tzu

Syntax as Dr. Franken Stein:

The quintessential mad scientist! Syntax is the arachnid genius who conducts bizarre experiments. Stein is the Shibusen professor obsessed with dissection, covered in scars, always tightening the bolt in his head, and constantly flirting with pure madness. It's an absolute match!

Lao Tzu as Master Eibon (The Great Enchanter):

In Soul Eater, Eibon is the legendary creator of all the Demon Weapons and the most powerful magical artifacts in the world. In mythology, Lao Tzu is the great alchemist who forged the Staff of Wukong and created the pills of immortality. They are the two founding geniuses of their universes!

⚔️ Rivals and Legends: Erlang and Ao Lie

Erlang Shen as Mifune (The Sword God):

Mifune is a human samurai so powerful that he can stand up to monsters and gods alike. Above all, Mifune is Black☆Star's (Wukong's) ultimate rival! Their battles are epic, based on mutual respect and warrior pride. Erlang, as guardian of the Heavens and Wukong's eternal rival, would take on the role of this Sword God with insane style.

Ao Lie (The Dragon of the East) as Excalibur:

The legendary sacred sword! Ao Lie is a mythical member of dragon royalty. Excalibur is the ultimate weapon... but his personality is so arrogant and eccentric that everyone hates using it! Imagine the dragon-horse in the form of this small white creature in a top hat who shouts "FOOL!" at everyone. 😂

👧 Purity and Chaos: Bai He, Jin, and Yin

Bai He as Angela Leon:

Angela is a tiny, innocent witch who doesn't yet possess any terrifying powers and is protected at the risk of her life by Mifune. Bai He is that same pure and defenseless little girl whom everyone wants to protect from the darkness (and whom Mei Lin/Tsubaki would tenderly comfort).

Jin and Yin as Eruka Frog and Mizune: The comic relief! Eruka (the frog witch) and the Mizune sisters (the mice) are the little henchmen who are always being tormented and manipulated by Medusa (LBD). Jin and Yin, in their roles as clumsy villains, would spend their time whining while trying to do Lady Bone Demon's dirty work!

🌌 Divine and Celestial Entities

Nüwa as the Great Old Ones: The cosmic creators who embody the pure concepts of the universe (such as Strength, Madness, and Order).

The Japanese Demon as Noah (The Collector): Noah is the embodiment of greed, an artificial being who manipulates minds and steals souls into his grimoire. Just like the demon who brainwashed Mei Lin into becoming the idol Yumei Amane, Noah uses psychology and magic to appropriate the beauty and strength of others!

Peng and Yellow Tusk as Mosquito and Giriko: Arachne's (Spider Queen's) super-powerful personal servants. Peng's lightning speed corresponds to Mosquito's flight, and the Elephant's brute strength corresponds to Giriko's attacks.
