My [29M] pregnant wife [26F] of 3 years tested positive for chlamydia yesterday

I feel numb and tried not to post this but I just need to type it out. I have negative test results for myself from years prior and I was not unfaithful. She is insisting she was not either. She only has a negative result from Jan 2026. Positive yesterday. I have not had any reason to have suspicion.

She is getting tested twice today by 2 different clinics to see if any possibility of a false positive. I have mine scheduled for Wednesday (tomorrow).

Baby is ~12 weeks old. She was supposed to share news of its gender, got hit with this instead.

I can't shake the feeling that this relationship might be over. Only thing that can save it are two negative results from her and confirmation of a false positive.

tl;dr: wife tested positive for std, I have no previous history of disease or cheating

Rejected despite executive referral, looking for honest feedback

This one stings.

I applied on 6/18/2026 and received the rejection email today. I really thought I'd at least get a first round interview because I had a literal executive referral.

I'm trying to transition out of the automotive industry after 7+ years (sales, sales management, and F&I). I have a BBA in Finance from a flagship university in the SE and have been applying to sales, AE, business development, and related roles.

For those of you who've successfully made a similar career pivot:

  • Is the current market just this competitive?
  • Does an executive referral not carry much weight anymore?
  • What skills or experience finally helped you break into a different industry?

Feeling pretty discouraged today, but trying to learn from it instead of just moving on to the next application.
