EFIN immigration status - Don’t know what to pick

I’m applying for an EFIN for my newly formed single-member LLC tax practice and I’m stuck on the Principal/Responsible Official section.

My situation:

- PTIN: active
- LLC: formed
- EIN: obtained
- Tax Pro Account: active
- Immigration situation: pending asylum, valid SSN, work authorization, pending I-485 (adjustment application filed), but no green card yet

The EFIN application asks for citizenship status and only gives me these options:

- U.S. Citizen
- Legal Resident Alien
- Nonresident Alien

I’m confused because:

- I’m not a U.S. citizen
- I’m not a green card holder
- I file taxes as a resident for tax purposes, but I know tax residency and immigration status are different things

Has anyone with a similar situation successfully obtained an EFIN? Which option did you select, and were there any issues during the IRS suitability review?

Not looking for guesses — I’m hoping to hear from people with actual experience or IRS guidance.

Hi everyone! I’m trying to get a feel for what people in the area are paying for tax preparation services.
If you’re open to sharing, I’d love to know:
How much you paid for your most recent tax return
What was included (just a basic return, itemized deductions, investments, rental property, etc.)
Whether you used a CPA, tax preparer, or software (like TurboTax)
If you felt it was worth the price
Also curious—would you consider your return pretty straightforward or more complex?
Are you in DSM metro area?
I’m just trying to understand the local range and what people value most when it comes to tax prep as I’m considering start a side gig next tax season? TIA
