Approved at ALJ Level

I was finally approved on June 30th by the judge. I submitted September 9, 2023. The judge approved me during our call. He will backpay me from the date of November 23, 2024 instead of September 2023. It was a definite approval with the November 2024 date so I accepted.

I am 54 and I have PTSD and knee issues. I am a disabled veteran at 100% disability and I reside in Florida. The judge told me to give him about two weeks. I guess for him to get his paperwork in showing my approval.

When I first started this whole process, I submitted without an attorney. I was disapproved all the way up to ALJ. When I first had an ALJ appointment, it was January 30, 2026. When I was on the call, my judge didn't make a decision because he said that he wanted me to get representation.

So, he dismissed everyone from the call and he told me that he would send me a list of attorneys to contact. He said once I had an attorney, they will contact him to show that they were representing me. I'm not sure when I will get any payment because I have to wait until the judge does his part before anything gets kicked off.

My attorney told me to submit for Disabled Adult Child benefits (DAC). My son is 18 with autism and ADHD. I had never heard of it before but it is something I would get for him because I will be receiving SSDI. But, I have to wait until my approval is showing in the system before I can apply for (DAC). Keep up the fight and good luck to you all.
