I was perma banned for a false accusation of CSE in Feb 2026. I’ve done all the legal things and have started to accept a social media free life but every once in a while a wave of sadness falls over me.
So much of our reality happens on social media - birth and wedding and funeral announcements, event planning, chatting with networks, celebrating achievements. I can accept not having access to that world anymore but I think it also comes with accepting being isolated significantly from society. It’s only been a few months and it already feels like I’ve been deleted from society. I’m working on new habits like reaching out to loved ones more via phone and text and email. But even that can’t assure that they will remember to tell me when they make big announcements.
Are we doomed to a partial life thanks to meta? will society ever adapt to include those without social media? Or rebel from our tech billionaire overlords?
