I FINALLY FIXED MY LAWN MOWER

Jesus fucking Christ, I finally did it. 24 yrs old, first time renting a house and maintaining my own yard. Mower suddenly died and wouldn’t start back up. Swapped the super dirty air filter out, changed the old ass oil, changed the gas out and put fresh gas in with sta bil, thinking it was that. There was a tear in the gas cap, so bought a new one thinking maybe it was a venting issue. Idk. I researched like crazy. I was just about to start googling how to clean a carburetor or change a spark plug out. Then the light bulb popped up. “Wait a minute, when’s the last time I ever cleaned the underside of this thing??” I had my boyfriend help me tip it on the side (air filter facing up) and it was just absolutely clogged with wet grass and dirt on the underside. As soon as I scraped all that shit out, the mower started back up and worked good as new. I was so relieved. Cannot afford a $200-300 purchase right now for a new mower.

Venting About JEA Bill

I moved into a 2 bed rental about 1,000 sq ft in February and my JEA bills for this summer have gotten absurd. For reference, the previous 1 bed 750 sq ft apartment I used to live in for 2 years had a great AC unit and insulation. The cold air circulated very well and it stayed cool for a long time. Because of this, my JEA bill usually didn’t exceed $130-$150 between the months of May to September. However, this new place I live in is an older house. During the day when it’s getting 93+ degrees out, my house won’t go below 77 degrees, despite the AC constantly running. It finally hits 72-73 degrees after 8 pm. Then it usually stays that way up till about 11-12 pm. Now my JEA bills have been running up to $300-$320 per month, literally twice the amount I paid before!!! The inspectors said nothing was wrong with the indoor or outdoor unit, so my assumption is it’s an insulation problem. It’s so frustrating. All this extra money spent just for AC to not even work properly. Ugh. I feel like there’s nothing I can do to rectify this situation.

Anyways, vent over. First world problems. Yadda yadda. I just want the summer to be over already.

Local/Family Owned Dentist Recommendations?

So just had a horrible experience with Aspen Dental off San Jose Blvd. I am highly suspicious that they’re exaggerating things and they tried to upsell me on 4000 dollars of dental work. I walked out of there pissed and only paid the $40 visit fee. The whole thing felt more like a sales pitch. I just hate how I can’t even do something as simple as a dental cleaning without being scammed. So any recommendations on a place that for sure won’t try to upsell me on some BS? I was looking at Ortega Boulevard Dental as an option.
