I have literally zero clue what could have caused the issue while I was asleep, I can’t imagine there was any water readily available. My thinking is the charger itself may have been wet? Really unsure, anyway the questions I’m looking to ask is emergency override ever worth the risk of short circuiting? And could the notification be incorrect?
This is a project I had been working on for a long time now, originally starting it with a friend. Now it’s sort of just became my thing that I go back to every so often, the core tenants of my verse was to try and combine entire franchises/mythos as opposed to individual characters.
To start with, I went with a traditional JLA/Avengers mashup, with picks that I think almost all make good sense
Going into this I always knew I’d be combining the titans and the X-Men, trying to make picks that I think would fit both franchises. This made it an easy place to build out a lot of the universe, using the younger generations of titans to kind of sway away from the mutants, leaning more towards Champions and general marvel legacies, which make sense with the rest of my picks. Some admittedly don’t fit perfectly, but overall I’m happy with it
After this I decided the superman family would be a good fit with the fantastic four, thinking that Clark and Lex’s rivalry maps quite well onto Reed and Doom. For Spidey I wanted a hero with youthfulness but also a pretty vast verse, this led me to splitting the batfam, with parts going to Spidey and the rest going to Captain America and the other street level marvel heroes
At this point I thought I’d mapped enough of the universe to start really looking into villains, initially going for pretty general villains then mostly dedicating time to batfam villains being given to each franchise
Green Lantern and Nova were actually some of the earliest ideas I came up with, but I wanted to work out how to make the rest of DC’s cosmic side more diverse, akin to marvels. I realised that I had basically neglected the JLI, thinking they’d map decently well onto the guardians, admittedly this is quite an adaptation minded decision
I wanted to make a few more for Thor and Shazam amalgams, which I think ultimately went pretty well. At this time I started plugging some holes in the street level stuff
Overall I’m happy with a majority of my decisions and would be happy to explain any that people are interested in
As someone enjoying new titans and also looking forward to Teen Titans, I can’t help but feel worried that these two books are occupying a very similar space on the market. Historically when there’s been multiple titans books running at once one has focused on the teen heroes and one on the classic titans. Now these two books will both have a primary focus on younger heroes, whilst the classic team has nothing. I will be picking up both books, just can’t shake the feeling that there’s maybe not enough demand for both of them to be starting around the same time.
The closest situation to this was when Teen Titans (2016) and Young Justice (2019) were both running, although YJ19 sort of occupied the space the older titans usually took up, as it was giving a previously beloved team a book, whereas NT and TT both have to get fans on board with entirely new rosters
