With the WeMo cloud shutdown, I built WeWhisperer for WeMo — an independent app to help keep WeMo devices working. It focuses on local network control (no cloud or Belkin servers needed) and includes a built-in setup tool for new or factory-reset devices. For remote access, you can run it on a Mac at home, which then acts as a secure hub using your own iCloud account (no third party servers). So far I have tested with the devices I own:

•  WeMo Switch

•  WeMo Motion Sensor

•  WeMo Link + bulbs (including brightness control)

It won’t replace every feature of the old app, but it should handle basic on/off, setup, and remote access for many people. If you have other WeMo devices (especially ones that stopped working), I’d really appreciate feedback on whether it works with them. Feel free to DM me or comment here.
