TV Direction and (Super)clipping

Possible tinfoil hat, but...

I'm convinced that the TV direction this year has been instructed to minimise showing speed loss from superclipping.

This weekend was case in point. We understood coming into the weekend that these cars would struggle with energy management around the Silverstone circuit. Whilst we saw lots of onboards over the weekend, I don't recall seeing the telemetry overlay on the halo once.

We've also not see any battery graphics to provide context for overtakes. It's clear what when a driver's battery is empty, they essentially become a sitting duck. As a viewer, it's hard to tell if an overtake is great racing, or just because one driver has vastly less power available.

Picked up a solar charger for my Parkside mower and it’s going back to the shop, but I’m wondering if the one I got is broken. If it is, I might try a replacement.

My main issue is that it doesn’t seem to use the internal battery to charge the lawnmower, or keep the boundary wire powered. The internal battery in the solar unit will charge from the solar panel, but when the ambient light drops, the output power to the robot’s charging station dies. This has led to the robot losing the boundary wire signal and stopping in the middle of the garden in the evening.

I’ve checked with my multimeter, and disconnecting the solar panel causes the output voltage to drop to zero over the course of about two minutes, despite having a fully charged battery available. I’ve also tried swapping out the batteries.

Can anyone else confirm that their unit keeps the boundary wire signal alive when the ambient light drops off?
