Where the hell am I going to cook this guy

Where the hell am I going to cook this guy

After solely focusing on building heads, littering my side of the room with them (my poor wife) I’ve finally decided to attempt giving one a body. Probably going to add at least 2 more lbs of polymer clay to him but I’m realizing my oven won’t fit him. Anyone know of one that might in the NYC area? Thanks in advance

What saved me: Strepsils and Ginger

For about 15 years, I bounced between newports, nicotine gum, vaping, back to cigarettes, then vaping constantly. I’m talking Bane-from-Batman levels of vaping. If someone had offered me a mask where I could just constantly breathe nicotine, I would have taken it.

The part that always got me was this nagging, scratchy, needy feeling in the back of my throat.

Then I got the flu and I tried a Strepsils lozenge and something clicked. It numbed/blasted that exact spot in my throat where the craving lived. It was the first time I thought I might actually have a fighting chance.

Raw ginger helped too. Same idea: intense sensation, heat, something sharp enough to interrupt the craving loop. It gave my mouth and throat something to fight with that wasn’t nicotine.

Notsaying Strepsils or ginger quit smoking for me. I still had to actually quit. But they gave me a tool for the specific craving that kept kicking my ass.

I’m 2 years nicotine free , about 3 months ago, we miscarried and the craving surged back. I grabbed a hunk of ginger and blasted my sinuses. It worked.

Best luck to all 🙏

I made a tiny tribute to the Playground hippos in Riverside Park.

The original playground hippos were created by artist Bob Cassilly, so full credit and respect to him for the design and personality. I just wanted to make a small homage to what’s become such a big part of my kid’s UWS childhood.

Still tinkering with the paint/patina, but thought this crowd might appreciate it.

[update: thank you all for the positive feedback and encouragement :) sculpting has become a real passion for me, could also be a mid-life crisis, but I welcome it regardless.

A few people have asked if I’d make more. I’m not selling anything through this post, but if I figure out a non-annoying way to keep track of interest, I’ll share more later. For now, I’m just very grateful this tiny hippo has found his people. 🙏]
