Fairly new shooter, upgrading to a 2011?
I'm fairly new to pistol USPSA (Usually compete with PCC) and I've been shooting a Rival-S since I began (6-8 months?). I had always wanted to upgrade to a 2011 at some point once I had the money, specifically a Platypus.
Would this be a meaningful upgrade? I read a lot about 2011s being the gold standard for competition and lots of the M and GMs use that platform, but I also see a lot of people online saying to go with a Rival S over a Platypus.
I'm only a B rank pistol shooter, so theres room for improvement (mostly on the shot speed and movement front), and i would be selling my Rival S to put towards anything else. I know it wont magically make me a better shooter, but would this be a tangible upgrade or more of a side grade? I'd be able to get a few upgrades out if the Platypus like a lighter trigger and integrated comp, rather than buying weird add-ons for the Rival and having to replace all my equipment to compensate for it.
