Hey peeps. I got diagnosed with mild UC this year. I'm awaiting a proper discussion with a specialist so don't quite have a resource beyond my fairly unavailable GP that I can ask. I will ask them this question in due course but I want to know - do other people have nail issues from UC?
I noticed about two years ago I'm getting longitudinal ridging on some of my fingers, and minor (not beau's lines, I think) horizontal lines on my big toes. Is this common? I feel eat reasonably (not perfectly) well. Is there something I can do if it is a nutrient deficiency? Edit - I should add I'm about 40, so recognise it might be normal age changes.
Argument for my opinion - I complete normal mode not long after launch and thought I can't do free solo. Few months later I get an itch to play again, so why not. First attempt I died before even getting to Kami, fell off the slender tower just after the gym.
Second attempt I did it. I forgot how to use the torch for 1/3 the run (maybe it's just not available in free solo I thought), I don't know how to make good infusions, my climbing is meh and I missed the big chalk bag. I also had three deadly falls, and one "very close" near miss, didn't realise blacking out mid climb (near the end) was unwise. Also, see one of the images for my awful attempt to get to the body near the needle, then panic and quickly change my mind.
Possibly useful advice - Stock up and keep materials (like flowers) to mix in drinks, so you can use them to make more drinks after Avaa gets hungover.
Stock up on plastic bottles, I carried three for most of the run.
Get the glowing gloves. Also get the big flask, I filled it with goats milk whenever I could.
Remember to drink stuff with buffs from backpack bottles before you climb.
Aim for the glowy pitons, they are flowers in free solo. I would not have survived without three elder Weiss flowers.
Don't panic during avalanches.
Save Climbot, this is non-negotiable.
As I get older the hair on my ears is getting more intense, like it's moved from my forehead and onto my ears. Little long hairs on my earlobes, tragus, helix (just learned that's what the curly outside bit is called).
How do you guys deal with it? I loathe the thought of long gangly hairs growing out that I can't see but anyone else can...
Still a cracking camera even after 3+ years
