"You are doing God's work."

Got to vent for a moment. When I hear that and I hear it often, I have to bite my tongue. I do a lot of volunteer work. I don't do it because of any god. I do it because I know that no God is going to do it for you. Me, or anyone.

No god is going to fill the foodbanks or mow my elderly neighbors yard. God isn't going to donate blood.

We do it. We struggle and we act out of compassion for others because we know no else will.

Welp, I did it. I'm 60 now.

I survived to be 60 years old despite my belief I wouldn't make it. I've buried most of my family and some friends. But It's pretty lonely. I've been reading mens blogs but they all turn into in nasty soup of misogyny.

How are you doing?

I adopted 2 cats last September.

Their owner passed away. They are good kitties but a bit traumatized.

My religious friends don't get it.

For a long time, I had a friend who was a victim of a violent controlling parent. The parent was very religious. My friend had two moods. Bitter drunk and and high on Christ. When he was in his religious mood, he bright and full of "Gods love." He never understood that these highs were just as much a toxic addiction as his drinking moods.

The man was not stupid but he never escaped. He took his own life years ago. He REALLY needed therapy. I couldn't convince him. His other friends thought he was fighting a battle with Satan.

RIP David. I failed you buddy

The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra plays the music of Rush.

Spirit of Radio

I have a love/hate relationship when Orchestras do covers of rock songs. Symphonic Pink Floyd is a great album. I am undecided on this Rush tribute album. What do you think?

"Nobody's Hero"

I think this song is one of most important things to ever come from the 3. Every time some i care about passes away, I hear this song in mind.

Rush is considered Prog Rock but I know they have serious hard metal songs.

"Stick it out." and "Driven" come to mind. Your favorite?
