Irresponsible Driver's Car Under $60k
Figured this one may be a bit of a switch-up from the usual Miata/Camry propaganda around here.
I want to pick up a weekend car that is just a blast to drive. I want engagement (so preferably a stick shift, would consider a really engaging automatic like the Tremec in the new GT500s) and overall driver's feel and presence (unfortunately not something like a Miata, which lacks a little bit in the presence department). I have a reliable daily, so I really don't care if this new car is reliable or needs some mods to be brought to it's full potential, or has no back seats or trunk space or whatever else.
I am leaning towards a new-ish car, as I just got a quote for an auto loan from the bank and I can get a 5.2% loan for 2020+ vehicles and ~6% for 2016+, 2015 and older dips me down to 10% and I cannot do that, as much as I would gladly take out a loan for an old GT500 or C6Z06, valve drop be damned.
I personally value sound and emotion over everything. I am coming from a 2019 GT350, which was an absolutely phenomenal drivers car, but as a second car it would be really pushing my budget and it almost seems too daily-able to be a weekend car if that makes sense (I could just be coping to not get a second GT350.) I also used to have a 2012 GT500, and that car was fantastic. I drove a lot of sixth gen Camaros, including a ZLE, and I'm not a fan - they feel very numb and electronic, and the gobs of torque take away a lot of the fun driving, which sucks because they're very capable.
Very willing to hear out some opinions and even delve outside my comfort zone. I clearly have grown up around a lot of V8s and love them, but I can poke out if need be. TIA.
