Height-over-bore offset. Yeah, the struggle was real.
M-4 22 Micro 7” with a Holosun Aro red dot, range day sighting her in.
With pistols I start close to make sure it’s on paper and dial it in from there. Say 10 yards. So I did that today. Dialed it in for 10, moved back, adjusted, moved back WTF!!!!! Adjusted. Why? Crap ammo, crap shooter (me, some days). Started over, what a pain, but I was kinda satisfied. Just kinda.
Did some reading up and found the height-over-bore, phenomenon. Was aware of it, normally occurs when guys shoot their trucks not accounting for the scope to barrel thing.
Back out tomorrow, 25 yards seems to be the sweet spot. I gotta be better than just kinda satisfied
Man that gun is a shooter, legit platform.
It’s legit. Feels great, the AR clunk sounds great, the holosun co-witnesses, the Banish is perfect. Gotta clean it a bit, oil it a touch. I’m assuming it runs better a bit wet like it’s big brother.
Micro pistol 7”. It’s smaller than my Kuna, I’m pleased.
How’s that for a grab headline. Anyway, reading up on the micro, mine arrives today! The info was that shooting mini mags is still subsonic because of the barrel length, caused me to go HMMMM.
Kinda makes sense, with the 7”er. But what do I know. We will test that.
Browsing 22s, the Taurus, for the threaded barrel, then the S&W 22 AR popped up. Hmm. Looked good, but that’s a lot of plastic. But solid reviews.
A quick YouTube check on it, a Tippmann comparison video came in hot, tell me more.
The 11 or 7 inch is now the question. I’ve a banish 22, who’s responsible for this fever. It needs another outfit.
I’ve been in the market for another “pistol”, looked at 223s, but ehh. Tippmann looks perfect.
11 or 7 inch???
Well I’ve been influenced. Went looking for a 7”, no where to be found, the “dealers”? not so much. They don’t have em.
Sight unseen, it’s on the way. Guns.com.
To the gentleman that reached out to me, I’ve just a slight concern buying online from a source I didn’t find. Hope you understand. No disrespect meant.
I’ve a Banish 22 can, zero complaints about that. Somewhere along the line I read that anti-seize stuff would help with carbon lock. So I went there, then the breech cap seized, bad. After a few hundred rounds, it was immovable. I tried everything.
Reached out to Banish and sent the can off. Problem fixed, and it’s on its way to me.
Now the point of the post. Banish doesn’t use nor recommend anti seize stuff. It dries hard when exposed to air. It certainly dried hard. Confirmed.
They use synthetic grease. Hmm. Interesting I thought
I’ve hit it with my purse, ok. And the suggestion of hitting it with my pen is was unappealing. So on I go..
A dirty banish 22, she’s all cleaned up, except for the breech plate. I’ve wrenched it, soaked it in CLP, banged on it, made sure I was lefty loosening it, nothing.
Carbon lock is a bitch.
What’s the deal with heating, freezing it? I get the expansion thing, any tips?
Kroil penetrating oil is also a plan.
Soak it in Break through? Effin the finish is a concern.
