Let’s be done with Amazon.

I’m not one for public declarations, but I have had completely stopped doing business with Amazon. Purely because of the amount of stupid mistakes that become an absolute nightmare to get resolved.

Of my last 10 orders, I’ve had problems with seven of them. One order was such a nightmare to get a resolution that I actually had to go to my bank and have them reverse the charge on their end before Amazon took any kind of action. It took hours of my time and stretched out for weeks.

It is impossible to get in touch with a human being for any customer service. If your problem doesn’t match their AI system good luck! When you do finally manage to get somebody on the phone, they are completely clueless how to solve your problem and just say they’re going to “review it“ and then nothing happens. When you call back, you gotta start all over again from the beginning.

Let’s face it, we do it because it’s cheap and it’s convenient. The quality is garbage, The customer service is abhorrent, and it’s just problem after problem after problem lately.

Companies don’t listen unless you stop spending money with them. I have canceled everything I get from Amazon, including Prime/prime Video, Audible, Amazon kids, and any other subscriptions. I’m gonna be doing my best to support small local businesses (the best that I can) and for the things that I do have to buy online; I will be purchasing them directly from the merchants (even if I have to pay shipping).

Of course, I hope people join me in this and I’m happy to give details about some of my nightmares, but it’s time that Amazon stops ruling all of commerce and starts paying more attention to its customers. They can work to earn my business back as hard as they worked to lose it. (I’ll hold my breath)

Those of you that know me know that I’m not a Karen, that I don’t bitch and moan without good reason, or start a rabble on the Internet about companies. I have a lot of forgiveness, a lot of understanding, but Amazon has just gotten absurd lately.

They’re collapsing under their own weight.
