I'm trying to identify this coffee table that has been in my family since the 1950s/60s. My parents acquired it in the Vancouver, BC area sometime between 1952 and 1967, probably toward the earlier part of that range.
Dimensions are approximately 56 × 20 × 15 in. (142 × 50 × 38 cm).
There is no surviving maker's label, although staples remain underneath where a paper label appears to have been attached. The top was lightly sanded and refinished in 2002; the frame, underside and hardware retain their older finish and wear.
I've been researching Canadian manufacturers and designers of the period and have some possibilities, but I'd rather not prejudice the identification by naming them initially.
Does anyone recognize the design, construction, hardware or manufacturer? I'm particularly interested in anyone who has an identical or closely related table with its original label, or who has period catalogues showing the model.
