After failing to find suitable magnifying glass for my old Wenger, I decided to pressure fit a 12x2 mm neodymium magnet into the empty socket using a tabletop hydraulic press. Since the commercial magnets have some slight variation in diameter, it might take some tries to find one that’s a bit bigger than the hole. Now the precision screwdriver is magnetized and can hold screws in place, which, to me, is a fair trade off to losing the ability to looking at slightly smaller things.
