Best Somerville restaurants with VEGAN options
I've spent the last few months going through restaurant menus around Boston looking for all the places with good or at least some vegan options. This is what I've got for Somerville:
- Dosa N Curry. Vegetarian but with 29 (!!) vegan dishes all labeled on the menu. Every dosa and uthappam is vegan, plus the curries and an Impossible kebab (literally never seen that before). And to top it off they have vegan pizza. I've also never seen that at an indian restaurant before.
- Koshari Mama. Egyptian vegan cuisine - super unique! Koshari, mushroom shawarma, falafel, fried ckn tenders.
- Life Alive. 100% Vegetarian but most items are vegan. It's a chain. Healthy vibes.
- Saigon Tiger. Two vegan tofu bowls (rice/noodle) plus veggie sides and they specify they have vegan dressing for the salads.
- Diesel Cafe. They have a gorgeous vegan club sandwich that has roasted tofu, avocado, tempeh bacon, and sriracha mayo. But that's basically the only option. But what an option it is...
- Genki Ya. Sushi place with 20 vegan items. The color vegetables roll is mango, avocado, asparagus, carrot, cucumber and spinach. Their miso is made with veggie broth instead of dashi, which is something that can sometimes get you at sushi places. Couple locations in MA.
- Pho n Rice. Massive Vietnamese menu. 17 dishes are vegan as written and a lot of others can be modified.
- Sugidama. Japanese soba and izakaya, a number can be made vegan, plug maki (Pickle Me maki!).
- Noor Mediterranean Grill. Okay if you just want hummus, pita, baba ghanoush.
- American Flatbread. Candlepin bowling place where I accidentally booked a TABLE to eat at rather than a lane to bowl, but turns out they have flatbreads with vegan cheese.
- Eat Greek. Normal greek food so falafel, hummus, etc
- NU Kitchen. Only a few vegan items but one of them is an A+ breakfast sandwich: JUST Egg, vegan mozzarella, pickled red onion, and chipotle mayo.
- Revival Cafe + Kitchen. Boston area chain. They have a lunch wrap called Slaw & Order which looks unique but doesn't have a protein.
- Dave's Fresh Pasta. Grocery with a hot counter. They have a vegan veggie hummus wrap and Hippie Salad that comes with tamari tahini.
Menus / vegan options come from getfarro.com which is the site I'm building to map vegan options at every restaurant around Boston. Hope this list helps you find a new place!
