Relocation expenses first time buyer

Moving to a different region to continue training.

Currently renting a flat but in the process of trying to buy a first house. I know I can claim for mail redirection, a moving company up to £500 (have to provide 3 quotes), and 2 preliminary visits to the area to find new accomodation.

Is there anything else I can try to claim for?

I’ve heard people claiming for costs related to a first buy because their flat was an unfurnished one. Grateful for any advice!

Annual leave pre mat leave

How should you use annual leave before going off on Mat leave? For example if going off on Mat leave in December, should I use up all 28days for my training year from August before I go off? Or whatever I don’t use I can use when I return? Does the allocation reset when you return from Mat leave?

LTFT before maternity leave

Looking for some advice on being LTFT before going on maternity leave and the impact on pay.

I’m starting an ST4 job in August and I’ll be approx 19-20weeks pregnant.

Before finding out I was pregnant I applied for and had approved LTFT 80% from August, just for better work life balance.

I’m now at the stage where I’m wondering that when I’m starting this new job in August I’ll probably soon come off all on calls anyways, and so I’d probably feel well enough to work 100% of normal shifts without on calls. Because of the way my maternity pay may be calculated one or both of those 2 pay checks before the 15th week prior to expected due date, will be calculated based on my LTFT pay from August.

Should I ask to start full time without on calls? I’m not sure they will honour that at this stage but I feel like I’m loosing out on full pay when on mat leave and missing out on the benefit of being pregnant and getting excused of on calls.

Or should I just hope that a few locum shifts will come my way during that period?
