UTI caused by ureaplasma?

I’ve been struggling with UP for about two months now after repeated incorrect diagnoses as UTI (finally figured out it was ureaplasma about a month ago). I was treated with Doxycycline 2x a day for 7 days and abstained from sex during that time as well as a week after. Strangely, my boyfriend tested negative for ureaplasma (and anything else). I am still experiencing symptoms and actually feel like they have been more painful the last few days as well as my urine becoming cloudy now. My only symptom throughout all of this has been pain with urination and some pain with sex. I just got another urine test and it came back positive for leukocytes and blood, consistent with a UTI. I was told it’s too early to retest for the ureaplasma since I just finished my antibiotics about a week ago, but they prescribed me Macrobid for the seeming UTI. Has anyone else had experience with their ureaplasma causing a UTI? My doctor told me this is something that can happen sometimes but I am not seeing a specialist so wasn’t sure how common this actually is. Will retest for UP in 3 weeks if the macrobid doesn’t resolve my symptoms. Any advice appreciated, and sending love to all on this subreddit who are battling with this!!!
