Interview probable date

Hello. For PhD from UNSW Business School, what is the probable date of interview? One needs to send EOI first which is till mid August and then ? Or interview happens after EOI submisison or after submitting formal application? Application deadline seems 26th August. If anyone has info or idea, pls share. Also, the scholarhsip deadline is 14 Aug for international students, so any possibility of interview before that?

Will a 5-credit MBA project meet the 25% research requirement for a Go8 PhD in Australia?

Hi everyone, I am planning to apply for a PhD in Business Management (HR specialisation) at a Group of Eight (Go8) university in Australia. I hold an HBCom (Honours Bachelor of Commerce) and an MBA in HR. During my MBA, I completed a dissertation in my 4th semester, but it was listed on my transcript as a "Project" worth 5 credits. My dissertation consisted of around 16,000 words. Australian universities strictly require a "substantial research component equivalent to 25% of a full-time academic year." Given that a full year is usually 40+ credits, my 5-credit project falls short mathematically. Has anyone successfully cleared the research hurdle with a similar credit structure, or will I be rejected/pushed to an MPhil pathway? Also, I have research experiences of 1 year along with a Q1 paper to be published. Please share your view.

Seeking Advice: Strong Academics + MBA Thesis + Q1 Paper Under Review — Go for MPhil/MRes or Direct PhD in HR/Management (Australia)?

Hi everyone,I’m planning my next step towards a PhD in HR/Organisational Behaviour/Management in Australia and would love your insights. M an international student. My Profile:BCom + MBA (with a solid thesis completed in the 4th semester).

Excellent academics (medals/awards, high GPA).

~1 year dedicated research experience.

Few months banking experience + strong HR interest developed during MBA.

Currently have one Q1 journal paper under review (this is a recent achievement I’m proud of).

I’m confident in my research skills and have a clear HR-related topic in mind (e.g., talent management / HR analytics / DEI / future of work — open to refining). My Dilemma:Should I apply for a 1.5–2 year Master of Philosophy (MPhil) or Master of Research (MRes) first (e.g., at Macquarie, UNSW, Monash, UQ, ANU) to strengthen my profile, or try directly for a PhD?

With my MBA thesis + Q1 paper under review + strong academics, is direct PhD realistic at good business schools? Also my research component was of 5 credits during my MBA in 4th sem which was of 6 months, and 1 year extra research experience besides that.

How competitive are fully funded PhD scholarships (RTP + stipend ~AUD $39k–$40k tax-free + tuition waiver) for someone with my profile? Are they achievable, or do most successful candidates already have publications and a research master’s?

Will i get stipend or scholarship for master of research or mphil with the above profile? Without funding I can't

I’m aiming for 2027 entry and want to maximise my chances of admission + funding without unnecessary delays. Any advice on specific universities, how to leverage the Q1 paper, supervisor outreach strategies, or realistic timelines would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!
