After what felt like the most mentally draining 3 months, I finally received a job offer today!! Yay!
The principal said she put my info into gateway and hopefully I receive the nomination after that.
I’m not coming from in the city so- when should I resign from my old job? Once I’m nominated in gateway is that a good time? I want to make sure I’m still playing it safe.

I know it can be so different school by school but I was wondering if anyone had insight onto timelines being that it is now August. Tuesday I have my first interview and it is with the principal but online. How many rounds do you think it could typically go after this? Was wondering if anyone had a similar elementary hiring experience recently and could share. TIA!

I had 2 demos which I didn’t get either position. The third one seemed promising but then the budget didn’t pass. Is anyone else having a really hard time? I email so many schools and hear back rarely from 1 or 2. Is it true that a lot of schools will hire mid/end of August? I really don’t want to go back to my current school and am just feeling super down on myself.

I did an interview in Queens that went really well. I truly got a great feeling from the school, the kids, and the administration. At the end of my interview they said they weren’t sure if they had positions or not, and this was all based on small class size funding. They thought they would know if they were approved for it end of April/Early May but they stated that it already seems delayed. But from what I have read online it could be later? Does anyone have any idea of when they’re releasing which schools received funding and how many teachers they received funding for?
