This is not a role discussion but more about his powers.

One thing I noticed from the trailer is Cyclop's redlining throughout his suit and especially his belt. I didnt really think anything of at first until I looked at his home screen and noticed that when he uses his beams to its maximum capacity, his belt was the only part of his suit that glowed and he's evening chanelling that kinetic forces that seems to be lifting up the rocks aroudn him. This makes me feel like they might use his suit as justification for cyclops to get expanded abililities.

Also in Mystic Mayhem (another game by NetEase) Cyclops is able to buff himself via his beam. This leads me to think that they will do a similiar thing that they did with Hulk by saying that his belt gave him some enhancements and added new powerset to his abilities. In the comic hulk never forms a buble but in the game it was explained that banner discovered it by tinkering with his belt. It would be very interesting as it opens him up to new roles but also allows him to be a melee brawler which pays homage to his glory days in Marvel vs Capcom.

Cosmic Invasion just showed Cyclops can use his abilities for shielding/defense

Prediction: Cyclops abilities will include enhancements to his powers and physicality via his belt and suit.
