Good morning

I don't know how we used to go into an office 5 days a week, but RTO is tiring.
I’m sleepy and wish I could sleep 25 minutes before my start time instead of 2 hours because I live that far away, and the thought of traffic!

But don't get me wrong… I'm grateful for a job, I'm just no longer used to it.

Genuine question

Am I the only one who wishes they were raised in a good family?
I see cousins, siblings, and in-laws who get along and I wish I had that.
My husband's family isn't close to him and my family is dysfunctional. Anyone else going through this?

I wish my kids had family members who love them

Let me know what you think

I came from private industry, and I’ve never experienced the kind of workplace dynamics I’m dealing with now.
You’re discouraged from asking coworkers questions, even when they know the answers.
You’re told to ask your manager only after exhausting every resource.

When you do ask, you’re directed back to SOPs or documentation, even if they don’t help.

A person not from my team but works in the same cubical offered to help because she was working on something similar, but instead she went to leadership, and leadership told me not to go to her.

My question is: Is it really supposed to be like this?
I don’t understand the big deal. I see managers asking each other questions all the time, but when employees ask, we’re told to rely on resources — even when those resources don’t answer the issue.
I’m seriously considering moving to a different department. Or maybe get out od the state.

Is this normal state behavior?
And for the record its not just me its my whole team.

AllI want ia to do my job and do it well.
You would think management would love that.

Copilot

Sometimes I use copilot for grammar check.
My manager is real picky with grammar.
Can a manager see if someone uses copilot not just for grammar sometimes for work assignments.

I'm looking for a different department. How is it working for the department of housing community and development as a housing representative?

And the department of veterans as an analyst?
