Strawberry Cornmeal Layer Cake

It was a hit last year for Mother’s Day and was requested again this year. I did make it in 6 inch pan and made mini 4 inch cakes with the extra batter for the non dairy people (used coconut whip).

My only tips/mods are:

I like to add a little vanilla and powdered sugar to the whipped cream, it’s still a not overly sweet desert.

Fresh local organic strawberries take it to the next level if you have access to them

Grateful for all the cookbook authors/recipe developers I learn from

I’m making a cake today from a Claire Saffiz recipe, she’s got a YouTube tutorial for it as well. So grateful for the wonderful people who create recipes and teach me how to make them. Some of my faves are Claire Saffiz, Samin Nosarat, Ottolenghi, and Alison Roman. I’ll post my cake tomorrow!

The birds in my yard

The good sleep I got last night

Music that moves me

Being alive, learning and growing, healing no matter how long it takes

After a 5 year hiatus I sold took a few Mother’s Day bouquet orders this year

Not officially back in business but selling to friends on a smaller scale. After a 5 year hiatus due to illness it was fun to hustle a little again!

Grateful for friends

I’m grateful for friends. Can’t imagine life without. Life is better when shared. I’m grateful for all my current friends, past “season” friends (they say you have friends for a reason a season or a lifetime), and all the future friends I hope to make!

Hi all, I’ve eased into retinoids slowly and worked my way to to medic8 10 which I’ve been on for almost 4 months. My second tube is running low and I’m wondering if it’s worth going to a higher strength. I’ve tolerated 10 no issues. I’ve got deep wrinkles I’m trying to address through retinoids and some other tools. I know there’s no magic bullet but would I see benefit from a higher medic8 strength or trent eventually or is there a point of diminishing returns?
