Did The New Advertising Blocks Roll Out?
This is in reference to the following post; https://old.reddit.com/r/MeTVToons/comments/1ucbifn/weigel_files_for_fcc_waver_of_children_commercial/
I've been watching MeTV Toons tonight and the night before, and it seems like there has been a MASSIVE improvement in the quality of the commercial breaks.
I am not sure if this rolled out for everyone yet, but for me I have not seen a single AI boner pill, leg exerciser, back brace, or your favorite attorney commercial all night. It got SO grating and bleak having to sit through the same 10 commercials in rotation every single night. I can nearly recite the Your Favorite Attorney commercial word for word verbatim.
The commercials airing now are all....well....commercials.....still.......yeah......but they are A LOT better to watch/tolerate now. I have seen commercials for the rocket blower drill thing, the grillbot, Lectric e-Bikes, a Frigidaire stove, airline travel plans, historical coins, luxury bed frames, lotions/skin creme.
There is even new MeTv Toons bumpers rolling out as well. Seen Josie and The Pussycats advertised, and the Cartoon All Stars bumper has been re-edited and remixed with a different arrangement, and I think there's a new Scooby Doo promo too, but I only heard it I didn't get to the TV in time.
I know it sounds hilarious to rant on about commercials, but I love watching commercials - vintage ones anyways - and as a consequence it means you end up pay attention to all commercials as a result - for better or for worse. lol
I am not sure if the MeTV Toons staff listen to fan feedback, but this convinced me that they must be since it seemingly changed overnight pretty much - or within the past month. I know a lot of people have been complaining EVERYWHERE about the annoying ads for a long time. Both on here, YouTube, Facebook groups, it was a pretty big contention among cartoons fans on MeTV. Big ups to them for caring about the viewer experience, as I know it's not something the network can completely dictate or have total autonomy over.
