Need advice: Customer requested removal of flowerbed and replace with sod.

Hello, I’ve been mowing grass my whole life, the last few years I’ve been trying to make a legitimate business out of it.

A customer has requested me to tear out this flowerbed; okay no problem. And replace it with sod; uh-oh, I’ve never done that.

I did read up a little on prep and installation which doesn’t seem too bad, but have a few concerns/questions.

  1. Is it the wrong time of year? Central Arkansas, zone 7, the summer heat finally broke, we’re still probably 2 months to first frost, but it’s been horribly dry this year.

  2. How to blend with the existing lawn? The guides I’ve seen are for a full lawn install will I be able to blend/level this with the existing grass or will it be obvious that it’s a patch job?

  3. What alternatives can I offer that will be more familiar for me and maybe cheaper for the customer? I’m considering offering to plant seed instead.

I’m open to any tips or advice here. Thanks yall!

So this is actually the head off the folding trimmer. As you can see the cap is worn out and now the missing pieces have it out of balance.

I need to source a similar quick load head ASAP. As I’ve got clients lined up for the first part of the week.

Thanks!
