Hi everyone, Im currently finishing up M1 today and after reflecting on M1 I realized I want to do something non-surgical that focuses on MSK/Neuro that deals a good amount of biomechanics. I want to try getting into research but theres no PMR department at my medschool only an ortho department. Theres also not a Neuro department. If I focus mostly in Ortho/Neuro will that be a red flag? I know my interests might change still but I think itd be fun to do some MSK/Neuro research and I would enjoy the process. Hi everyone, Im trying to see if theres an OTS 26-14 facebook page and it seems like I could find one for basically everything except 26-14. Am I being dumb and missing something or is someone else also having an issue with this?

I’m currently trying to find information on the competitiveness of the Air Force Orthopedic Surgery residency programs, as well as any advice on how to best position myself to match into one. So far, the only information I’ve been able to find is from USUHS, and it was mainly a single slide outlining general qualities they look for in applicants without much additional detail.

I’ve considered reaching out directly to the Wright-Patterson or SAUSHEC Orthopedic Surgery programs for more information, but I’m a little hesitant because I don’t want to come across poorly or be a nuisance. I was wondering if anyone here has any advice, resources, or personal experience they’d be willing to share.

Hello, I opened Anki today and after that I was alerted to update anki. From there I did manage to go to the download page and I redownloaded anki. After that I tried to open anki and it had me first sync, from there the sync crashed and now I cant open anki. Ive tried pressing shift and opening anki, when I go on task manager it gives no indication that anki is working as well. Has anyone had anything like this happen before? Does anyone have any advice? Hi everyone, I’m currently an M1 soon to be M2 thats really been considering a surgical specialty. The issue is is that I haven’t exactly narrowed down what I want to do specialty wise and so I’m having a hard time with figuring out what research to do over the summer. My medschool doesn’t have a home hospital but I thought about reaching out to two nearby hospitals (one that I’m already onboarded with that does a lot of research, another has their own Plastics fellowship) and I just would like some advice on what the best to do is. I’m still going to be shadowing during this time period as well to figure out what I like more. Does anyone have any advice/suggestions??

Hi everyone, Im currently about to end my first year of medical school and I am trying to figure out if I should take out loans for my M2 year. Im an HPSP student and I have the opportunity to take out 6.5k. I dont have any student loan debt currently but I dont exactly have an emergency fund and my car might break down in the next few years (at least its currently a concern). I also have to pay for a wedding within the next two years so thats another component. Does anyone have any idea on if this is a bad/good idea? Or any advice overall? I know this might not be the best place to post this question but I have been thinking about this for the past few days.
