Anybody else have suspicions that there are people rage baiting deliberately on the road???
Something really strange happened to me today on the road, and I’m wondering if anyone has experienced something similar or knows what might have been going on.
I was driving through a nice residential neighborhood on my way to work, which I drive pass all the time. I stopped at a stop sign, and a car coming from my left didn’t stop. The driver turned left onto the road in front of me, then immediately stopped in the middle of the road and turned on their hazard lights. Right after the stop sign.
There didn’t seem to be any reason for stopping there. There are plenty street parking and this never happens before. They were blocking the road, so I had to maneuver around their car to get through. When I passed, I looked at the driver because I was confused about what they were doing, and they flipped me off.
The whole interaction felt bizarre. What makes me suspicious is the sequence of events: the driver apparently didn’t stop at the stop sign, turned in front of me, immediately stopped and blocked the road, and then acted aggressively toward me when I went around them.
I don’t know whether the driver was deliberately trying to provoke a reaction, whether there was some other explanation, or whether this could be related to some kind of road-rage scam.
I’m particularly concerned because this happened in a residential neighborhood. If someone is deliberately creating these situations, it could be dangerous for other drivers and the people who live there.
Does this happen to anybody else???
